One of two works created for the exhibition The Biology of Love, a collective artistic response to ‘The origin of Humanness in the Biology of Love’ by Humberto Maturana & Gerda Verden-Zöller. An MFA Thesis Project by Francisco Karmelić at Queens College.
These works reflect my feeling of disconnection between our basic human need for love and life in a metropolis. Here in New York, among throngs of people and endless subway rides, love is lost in missed encounters and bad luck.
They speak of this feeling of being adrift in a sea of bottles; often the messages inside them are illegible.
