Can memories have a home?
Memories sometimes have a smell, sometimes a taste, and undoubtedly an image. But sometimes they also have a home.
In 2013, I visited the park I used to play in when I was a child and suddenly I was that 6 year old girl again. The street I walked down wasn’t just a place on a map, or an address written on an envelope; on that sunny August day, that street was a doorway into my past.
My walk turned into this project, something to share with other people. The participants walk down that same street, listening to the audio through headphones. They listen to stories that mix distant memories and recent experiences, like the case of the missing birds, the haunted house, toys lost and abandoned, ruins, and passing rites.
